ICT RESOURCES
ICT is a key teaching tool in the modern classroom and it is imperative that teachers utilise and use ICT to help scaffold and extend their students. The list below will outline the key ICT tools that have been embedded into this unit and will explain why and how they have been used.
It is important to use the examples below as a guide not what to assess the students upon. Each student will have different responses and it is the teachers decision to best determine whether they are appropriate enough based on the intended curriculum outcome outlined in the lesson plans.

Padlet
See and example of how Padlet could be used in the beginning lesson (1) of this unit.
The Padlet outlined above is an example of how it could be used in lesson 1 - Beginning. The students are required to share their initial thoughts and ideas on the topic of water wastage in their school. It is a great tool to use as it helps students to quickly and effectively gather their ideas and thoughts. This tool is also great to collaborate as a class because the teacher can create a joint Padlet which can be seen on an IWB for the whole class. The students can save their Padlet page to a PDF which can be used at a later date for student and teacher referral. This tool allows students to generate simple text which can be displayed in an easy to read format. The use of this tool also ensures that students are not being too 'wordy' with their responses, this is not what this tool is designed for.

Forum
Below is an example of how a forum could be used in the middle lesson (2) of this unit. The teacher simply writes the task down and students reply with there response about where water is being waster in the school and possible solutions to these issues.

A forum can be described as, a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged. A forum is a great way to get students
to share their thoughts and ideas on a what they have learnt about water wastage in their school. It is also of great benefit to the teacher as they can periodically check student responses and provide feedback when necessary. A forum site is easy to use and makes students feel like they are actively engaged in the topic. Forums provide students with a great opportunity to showcase their ideas and this also allows other students to learn from their peers.

Prezi is a great presentation tool that can be used to demonstrate student understanding. Students can use this tool to clearly demonstrate their knowledge of the task. It is similar to PowerPoint but can may have a lot a tools that students may be unfamiliar with, however in this digital age it would be very simple for the students to pick up these new concepts as Prezi is very easy to manipulate and work with. Prezi also allows the students to break up their knowledge and content into more meaningful parts which better allows them to present their findings/solution in an engaging way.
PowerPoint
Download the file (PP) below to see how a Power Point could be used in the End Lesson (5) of this unit

Power Point is one of the most used presentation tools, and this is for a reason. Power Point is an effective, easy way to present information to others and can be as simple or complicated as the presenter would like. Power Point has a variety of great presentation effects which can really enhance the students final task. This ICT tool allows students to present text, images and sound to an audience. One reason why this tool was chosen was because in most cases the majority of students in a grade 7 class would have had some experience with PowerPoint before, thus making it not as intimidating as other ICT tools. PowerPoint is a common ICT tool and is highly effective for presenting a variety of information.
